The bliss of a home.

In my travels one of the things I miss the most is living in a home, in my home. Nothing can replace memories built into marks on the boards, forts dug in the back yard, laughing pictures on the walls, & beat-up board games in the armoire.

A new house is crisp and fresh, but a lived in home exudes warmth and love. It tells a story.

One of the blessings of traveling so much is getting to visit so many homes. Sometimes, instead of going out and exploring a new city, staying in and soaking up the stories and normality of daily family life is just what you need.

Just feeling extra grateful today for my family & childhood home, for the space of joy, laughter, adventure, & play that my parents created, & grateful for the opportunities to preserve the family homes of others.
